Hugh Hughes: How I Got Here
As part of The Wonderful World of Hugh Hughes, the Barbican in London commissioned me to make a film about my journey off Anglesey and into the world of art.
It feels like my life has changed quite dramatically since I first met Shôn from Hoipolloi in 2004. Back then I was still living and working in Anglesey. In the past six years I’ve been lucky enough to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe three times and toured right across the world, meeting lots of fantastic people along the way.
The film captures some of that adventure and offers me the opportunity to catch up with my friends and family who have played a part in what to me feels like such a remarkable journey.
As well as being screened in London, Edinburgh and Dublin, I was delighted that the film was also included as part of Cambridge Film Festival.
The film returned to the Arts Picturehouse in Cambridge in March 2011 and was also screened in Plymouth, Leeds and at the PULSE Festival in Ipswich.
