In Ipswich with Hugh Hughes: How I Got Here

If you’re in Ipswich at all, maybe you’ve heard of their PULSE Festival? A few years ago, it was the very first place where I performed my show, Hugh Hughes in… Story of a Rabbit, so it’s a little bit special for me.

In fact, all three of my theatre shows have been performed in Ipswich. We performed Floating there in 2007, Story of a Rabbit later that year and then 360 in 2009.

So I’m delighted to be able to say that I’ll be returning to Ipswich with my film to be part of PULSE 2011. My film’s called Hugh Hughes: How I Got Here, and it’s happening on Sunday May 29, at 4pm.

The film is basically a documentary about my life as an emerging artist from Wales. I made it as part of The Wonderful World of Hugh Hughes, which is a retrospective of all my work so far. And all of that work has been to Ipswich, so it made sense to offer my friends in Ipswich the chance to see the film about my journey!

You can find out more about the film here (there’s also a little clip from the film there).

After the screening, I’ll be hanging around to answer questions and have a chat with people, so please stay for that as well. It will be lovely to catch up with you again!

There’s only one screening, and places are limited, so please book quickly if you want to see the film and join in the Q&A afterwards. Tickets are on sale now by heading to the PULSE website or by calling 01473 295900.

I’m looking forward to it already.

Here are the important details for you:
