What a week! It was a great pleasure to play at this wonderful festival.
Sioned said that she could tell that people love their theatre in Ireland. At least the people that come to the theatre, that is, she was quick to add. Dafydd said that the people who didn’t attend theatre shows either didn’t like theatre or had never been introduced. No one could argue with that. It felt like a pretty factually correct thing to say.
The silence that followed his statement grew into the air of the Smock Alley Theatre where were presenting our shows.
Before September 8th, Dafydd had never been on a theatre stage. He said that this last six weeks of his life had made him more aware of his life than he had ever knowingly been before. His consciousness had been raised to a new level, he said. He said he was going to miss it.
